U-Tim :7 mth male kitty for adoption

Rescuer and Feeder: Dr Veeranoot

Fosterer : Ms  Julie Pek.

Dr Veeranoot not only is dedicated to teach the students but she is a feeder and rescuer too. U tim was found in the campus of Universiti Malaya where she lectures. We share our “lonely path” of rescue and feeding stories of the animals and though I have some numbers with me, I decided to take in U-tim as a fosterer when approached. I am relieved that U-tim was easy to care, meaning, he is tamed, is not frightened, seems “cool” and not demanding(noisy).

Dr Veeranoot had him de-worm, neutered and vacinated. Now U tim would be ready for adoption in two weeks time. Reason, that the cat should not be stressed further after much shuttling from campus to clinic for surgery and now in new place as well.

Interested, please sms to Ms Julie Pek : 019-3885119 and state u tim. I shall call back later. Thank you.

Putih-little white pup for adoption

I was walking along some shops and was told by the people there that a white pup was hit by a car and possibly would have fallen into the drain and died. As they know I am an animal lover, they asked me to help to check out. I walked by the houses and entered one house and there was the pup very frightened in the corner. The owner came out to greet me and told me that he expected the pup to die. I think it would not die and explained to owner the danger of letting the pup to run out unleashed. I took the opportunity to educate him on caring for the pup. No doubt he is kind to help the pup but the method was not right. He told me he is very busy and had not really the time and surrendered the pup to me which I could not take as I am already hands full being a feeder and rescuer. I later bought a leash and collar for the pup.

Next two days, I went to visit the pup and owner. Again, I was told the pup had ran out and nearly got accident again. The leash and collar was no longer there. The owner pleaded me again to take the pup away. This time I did not hesitate. I had to do what a rescuer do within his/her capacity. I told owner that I would try to get pup adopted.

I brought home and bathed Putih (all white)  and brought him to vet. He was de-worm and now Putih has his own cage and inside the garden to be safe. All people concerned were very happy that Putih is better now. Putih is very easy going pup, non-excessive barking, yet good little guard dog. Listens to simple commands.

Interested pse sms to Ms Julie : 01 388 5119 and state Putih. Will call back later.

Putih, obedient and good

Kitten-Ree Ree rescued from tree top:

Posted by Julie Pek 11 Dec 2011. Ree Ree for adoption.

8th Dec 8pm, I was on the way home and stopped at the shops to buy something. Was about to go off when I heard meowing. It certainly got to be a kitten and I looked at the drains, under the car and near the vicinity. There was no sight of kitten. I spent a while and decided to go off and said to the unseen creature, “Kitty kitty, di mana engkau..kalau you nak saya tolong, you mesti keluar.. ” Kitty, kitty, where are you? if you want me to help you, please come out. The meowing became louder and sharper. Something prompted me to look up and OMG… an orange kitten up on the tree. I asked an Indian gentleman to bring it down to me. I name the kitten. Ree Ree. I brought Ree Ree back, gave some food and water and he/she snuggled, curled up and slept after a satisfied meal. Ree Ree will be brought to clinic for de worm and checking. Meantime it is up for adoption. Interested, please sms to :019-388 5119 state. Ree

Ruffey the black female dog

A black dog is one of the dogs that I had been feeding for months. Just as mentioned, earlier in the post, they all get the “tossed” packets daily. LOL… One fine day, my collegue told me that the black dog had been injured in the neck and was weak at the roadside. Her intention was to get me to do something more beside just feeding. However, what Ms Jessica Fong does not understand is I am a feeder no doubt, and getting to know and make friend with the dog takes time. I am not a professional dog catcher, most rescuers are not at all. Whatever, I just took note and continued to feed. Ms Jessica gave the dog a name, Ruffey. One day I was on leave, and I received a call from Ms Jessica. She said Ruffey looks hungry and have I arrange for her food. Wow. that touches me. I told her I had but not sure if the person had fed Ruffey. Anyway, she said Kak Syah also reminded her and asked her to make sure Ruffey is not hungry. We are talking about two ladies who, one does not even have a cat or pup at home, but her heart is for the animals. Another, is a muslim, but her heart cares for the animal. Ms Jessica made a trip to buy bread for Ruffey. Thier love deter me to do something for Ruffey. I gather my guts and came down from my car and made friend with Ruffey.

Ruffey eating her “tossed food”

26th Nov Sat : Ruffey was brought to clinic. Sponsored by Ma ma Mei Fah. Ruffey had to be checked on the wounds at the neck. Dr  said the vet is being healed but Ruffey has to be vaccinated then spayed. Surgery was set for a week later. I took Ruffey back and gave her a good bath and de-tick wash. I had to wear gloves because she is not that clean. Dr said Ruffey is more than 6 years old.

Ruffey was scared and hiding under the chair at the clinic. All dogs are scared at clinic.

Ruffey was noisy and I could not keep her even temporary. I drove back to her place and left her there again. It was 30 km from my place. When she barks, my 3 dogs barked too, my neighbours total 5 dogs also barked, and hence forming an “orchestra” which was not acceptable to the master. He said SOP cannot have noisy dog that would disturb the neighbours. That was a fair statement.  Even the cats just don’t like another space invader.

Isn’t she pretty after a good shampoo and tick wash? She is a good dog.

29th Nov Since Ruffey’s life had not been a good one, I decided to board her at the clinic. I took her back the next day and brought her to clinic until surgery. She was then vaccinated. Her spaying was set on Dec 5th. I called up Dr and asked for the progress. I was told that Ruffey had a lump and suspected cancer and operation was delayed. I told them to refer to Ma maMei Fah for decision.

I had been super buzy in the office and the evening rain and jam  had hindered me from visiting Ruffey. Furthermore I was at a charity bazaar to help out.

8th Dec God knows how I miss Ruffey and I called the vet. To my surprise, Ruffey had been spayed and was taken by Mama to a safe place. Mama Mei Fah is a rescuer with own dog farm and she helps only the critical cases. I am so thankful and again my corner of my eyes were red and teary. I was stunned with such kindness that had been bestowed on me. I told Ms Jessica Fong the good news and that makes her day.

Mama Mei Fah had sponsored the vaccination and  the surgery too.  I paid the boarding from some dog bowls that I had sold. There were about 50 dog and cats bowls donated to me by Mr Gin. I am so grateful to all the kind people who stood beside me. I am not alone.

I am delighted that one more dog had been taken off the streets. I am sorry Ruffey that I had not visit you at clinic. I shall come to visit you at the farm. Meantime, please be a good girl to  Mama Mei Fah.
